James Cameron and his fellow researchers with the help of a computer-generated animation, fine-tune their theory of how the Titanic looked when it sank into the freezing Atlantic ocean on April 15,1912. The two-night television show entitled “Titanic: The Final Word With James Cameron” started on April 8 at 8 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel.
Cameron said in one of the clips on National Geographic‘s site “It’s never been animated so accurately and so seriously”.
The National Geographic website is promoting these types of programs with a game called “Adventure on the Titanic” In this game , you need to chose your character (one of the four first-class passengers on the ship), and you would be then be guided through scenarios that a first-class passenger of that time period which might have experienced on the Titanic. Although all of the characters of this game are first-class passengers, based on your character’s gender and where your personal gaming character ranks in terms of social standing within first class, he/she might be barred from a particular events (for example, no ladies in the smoking room,) until and unless you make use of your “clout” points.
On April 4, Titanic 3D was re-released in theaters worldwide, the 3D version made $4.4 million on opening night, as per the reports of Entertainment Weekly. James Cameron’s original Titanic film was released in 1997 and was critically acclaimed worldwide and won many Oscar and Academy Awards.
National Geographic channel is marking 100 years since the Titanic sank beginning with a two-days event starting on April 8.
