Google and Samsung together announced an Android press event to be held on October 19, in Hong Kong. Though it wasn’t stated clearly that the event will present the “Ice Cream Sandwich”, the next version of Google’s mobile OS, however the speculation have been addressed with the suggestive invite of the event which cleverly featured the widely popular Android platform in the form of an ice cream sandwich.
The event will also mark the official launch of the first ever smart phone to run on the new Google OS, the Samsung Nexus Prime. The Nexus Prime reportedly contains a dual-core 1.2 to 1.5 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE.
The event was originally slated to be held on October 11 but was duly postponed as consequence of the Apple founder Steve Jobs’s death.
The revelations about the event may leave the inquisitive minds wondering why Hong Kong and why not San Francisco, a place where the technology journalists galore? Well the answer is that the event commensurate with the AllThingsD‘s AsiaD Conference, which will begin right after the Google-Samsung press conference. The valuable speakers of the conference will be Andy Rubin and a Samsung executive, who are expected to elucidate about the Ice Cream Sandwich and the Nexus Prime.
