Google on Wednesday unveiled Chrome for iOS version 23, adding text encoding and feature to open PDFs in other apps along with many other new features like passbook support and several bug fixes. The new version can be downloaded now from the Apple App Store.
The biggest addition in the features list is Passbook support, which will permit the users to save to their tickets and boarding passes directly from Google’s browser (same as Sparrow). As Passbook is iOS 6 only, however, those users who have not upgraded may be more willing to open PDFs in other apps as well. This will be specifically beneficial if they already have a preferred PDF application on their iPod touch, iPad, or iPhone.
Last but not least, the third feature is text encoding detection, which required to be turned on ( by default it will be off). Along with that, the application has also got the usual security, stability and other bug fixes.
The official Google Chrome for iOS version 23.0.1271.91 changelog is as follows:
- Several bug fixes.
- Security & stability enhancements.
- Ability to 0pen PDFs in other apps.
- Save your tickets and boarding passes tickets with Passbook.
- Seeing jumbled characters? Turn on text encoding detection in settings.
