Facebook is going to permit influential public figures to verify their accounts and adapt a pseudonym of their choice, instead of their birth name. Figures with verified accounts will avail therefore, more influential and high placement in Facebook’s “People to Subscribe To” suggestions.
Users with verified accounts will still have their birth names displaying on their profile page; so Facebook’s terms and condition that users signup with their original names will be is still upheld. It’s an amazing method to make sure that people are subscribing to true public figures and not some fake person pretending to be the real user.
Seemingly, one cannot ask Facebook to be verified – one has to be certainly chosen. The users will be required to provide an image of a government-issued photo ID, which will get deleted automatically after verification from the Facebook.
Facebook will itself approve manually any alternate names that may be included by the user to make sure that the pen names or stage names are really legitimate.
One drawback of this feature is that not alike Twitter, Facebook accounts,it will not show a badge that they are approved accounts and this drawback could lessen Facebook’s capability to provide guidance to its users.
At the same time, Facebook is going to introduce its Timeline profile pages to several brands this month in the US but Facebook denied to say anything regarding the product launch date . But they did comment that it would still have the same idea as the present timeline has.
Rolled out in September last year, Timeline is like a scrapbook of all the moments & activities of a users life, as he or she posted on Facebook from the time they started using Facebook.
