Tech giant Apple Inc. has asked federal court to include six more flagship products to its patent violation lawsuit against Samsung, including the Samsung Galaxy SIII, in the latest move in the current legal war between the two tech giants.
The case is one of two patent violation lawsuits which are still in the U.S. District Court in San Jose by Apple against Samsung Electronics. Lawsuit by Apple which was filed earlier was related to different patents resulted in a $1.05 b jury judgement against Samsung on August 24.
According to a court filing on Friday, Apple is also planning to include Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wifi, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, the Samsung Rugby Pro, Samsung Galaxy S III running on the new Android “Jelly Bean” and the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, to its lawsuit.
“Apple has acted quickly and diligently to determine that these newly-released products do infringe many of the same claims already asserted by Apple,” the company said in the filing.
Samsung spokesman did not give any response instantly to requests for comment.
Apple filed the second lawsuit in February, alleging that various Samsung smartphone and tablet products including the Galaxy Nexus infringed eight of its patents.
Samsung declined patent breach and filed a cross-complaint claiming that Apple’s iPad and iPhone has also violated eight of its patents.
On Nov. 15 A U.S. judge permitted Samsung Electronics to carry on its claims that the iPhone5 has also violated its patents.
The case is Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. et al, No. 12-cv-00630.
