Its time to get your hands on the latest release of Apple – iPad Mini. The statement made by Apple at the event “we’ve got a little more to show you.” is coming to be true, Apple actually has a lot more in store for us. Although this new device is small in size, but it definitely performs big and it is now somehow managing to build its very own identity.
Walt Mossberg, Wall Street Journal columnist, wrote in a review of the gadget introduced last week, iPad Mini would cost you $329, more than $199 for both Google’s Nexus 7 and Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD, ignoring the drawback of a 10-inch screen, this device is easy to hold with one hand.
David Pogue, New York Times columnist, and Mossberg both appreciated the new gadget for cramming all the full-sized functionalities in such a small device. But this device has a 1024 x 768 resolution that counts as a negative point or we can say a drawback in the growth of the device, both Mossberg and Pogue also agreed to this point. In context to this drawback of the gadget, Mossberg said Apple selected a lower-quality display because the already exisiting 2,50,000 + iPads applications could operate only on two resolutions, and the higher level would have squeezed a lot of power too. He wrote, “The lack of true HD gives the Nexus and Fire HD an advantage for video fans. In my tests, video looked just fine, but not as good as on the regular iPad.”
Since, the helm was taken by Tim Cook from the Late Steve Jobs, Apple is taking a bold consumer hardware move. Mossberg, whose reviews are read and followed by consumers and almost all the technology companies, wrote “In shrinking the iconic iPad, Apple has pulled off an impressive feat. It has managed to create a tablet that’s notably thinner and lighter than the leading small competitors with 7-inch screen, while squeezing in a significantly roomier 7.9-inch display And it has shunned the plastic construction used in its smaller rivals to retain the iPad’s sturdier aluminum and glass body.”
This gadget has a battery life of about 10 hours and 27 minutes. Pogue says, “By pricing the Mini so high, Apple allows the $200 class of seven-inch Android tablets and readers to live, But the iPad Mini is a far classier, more attractive, thinner machine. It has two cameras instead of one. Its fit and finish are far more refined. And above all, it offers that colossal app catalog, which Android tablet owners can only dream about.”
Seems both the reviewers are quite impressed by the small-sized new gadget – iPad Mini. We hope this new launch gives Apple a new success story.
