Nokia has launched its Pulse app in November,2011, an application bit which permits users to keep in touch taking benefit of the GPS functionality inside mobile devices. With Pulse app, you can check in to places and you can then share that information with only a closed group of other users.
Although, Nokia is planning to go beyond Nokia mobile devices and those handsets powered by Windows Phone 7. Basak Ozer, Nokia’s Lead for social and location applications said “These are social apps. To be social, you have to be on each and every platform”.
As such, Pulse app will be soon available to Android and iOS users as well, though Nokia has not disclosed an exact date for its launch.
However, Nokia Pulse which is complementary to social services like Twitter and Facebook is not the only application which the company has in mind for its location and social offerings. Nokia is also planning to introduce a suite of inter-connected Nokia applications for its handsets as well as for other platforms.
